Proposition: The Cd'A (and Spokane, WA) metro area has sufficient numbers people, with all the categories of talent needed to mount at least one G&S performance per year. This includes those involved with theater, performance, instrumentalists, costuming, promotion, administration and so on. Also, there are a number of possible venues to approach for use as a performance space. There are no known directly competing organizations. G&S shows are such great fun and interestingly timeless, frequently accepting some updates in style.
This writer brings to the table a significant depth and breadth of G&S knowledge and experience, including the willingess to undertake the role of Music Director. As other individuals are found with interest and dedication to begin establishing a presence in the region, communication and formation meetings can take place.
Creating a MeetUp group requires more financial outlay that I am able to support at this time. Until then, the next best choice seems to use www.craigslist.org and this site/blog to coordinate and inform. (Entry date: 10/24/2011)

Taking advantage of an offer to record an interview (yesterday) about the upcoming G&S foundational meetings, I was very appreciative of local Public Radio station KPBX, and staffer Jim Tevenan who did the interview. We included some music from Gondoliers and Patience, and Jim is very knowledgable over a wide range of styles and genre. Fortunately yours truely didn't stammer so much. I listened to the airing of the interview today, and asked for a copy of the audio of the interview, to post it here. (Entry date: 11/2/2011)
I met with Kent and Diana at the Coeur d'Alene public library on Wednesday 11/2. We had an animated conversation, touched on many pertinent topics and watched 35 minutes of Ruddigore as was presented by the Seattle G&S Society. Many thanks to both of you for visiting! (Entry date: 11/2/2011)
There were no attendees at the Wednesday Post Falls library meeting. PF must have been otherwise busy then.
Kudos go to Jerry who listened to my protestations at the East Side Spokane library on Saturday. Jerry has considerable theater and music background, and a strong familiarity with G&S (ya-hoo)! We watched a bit of Ruddigore and chatted on a variety of formation topics. (Entry date: 11/5/2011)
